Day 4 and 5

So sorry for the immense delay!!! But since I've been a bit behind, I've decided to incorporate Days 4 and 5 together... since I didn't do anything on Day 5...

Day 4

Such tasty food! But before that, I started the day going shopping, the promised shopping trip that should have taken place on Day 3. Although short, I rather enjoyed it... if not for Taiwan's hot and humid weather, definitely not suitable for those easy of water loss... that is, sweat. The shopping took place at Tamsui, famous for its streets of stocked goods... I have but one recommendation, it is a must-eat... wheel biscuits!!! Somewhat of a direct translation from it's Chinese name... pics below.

Yes... a good piece of thin crisp on the outside, and bursting filling in the middle! Very, very tasty. And if you're wondering what the filling is, that of course, is what Taiwanese people couldn't do without: red bean. There is also the more widely appreciated filling: cream, but authentic Asian snacks call for red bean... and so, even though I ate the cream flavor, red bean was quite nice as well. Onward to more food!!! We left Tamsui in search of dinner... well, actually, we already found dinner, or if I must be clear, we ate a restaurant with friends. I don't remember the restaurant name, that's unfortunate (it was good!) but I'm not to blame! Well, maybe, but when everything you read is in Chinese, it's kind of hard to lock in and comprehend. However, very nice food!!!

You might be wondering what that little cup of whatnot is. Well here's a hint: we had to work very hard for our dinner. In truth, the restaurant had quite an interesting way of letting us live the queer dining experience, we had to hand grind our own seasoning! Yes, I worked quite hard using my little grinding thingy-magig, trying to mash the mixture up... turns out there's an easier way than just using sheer force... you're supposed to stir the stick around, use some pressure, and follow the pattern inside the bowl.... QQ *sore arms* But that's just the seasoning... our meal came full out when we got to actually eating. Take a look!

Appetizer, entree, and dessert... nice? Tasty...

Day 5

I did nothing on Day 5... so no pics. :D (very lazy of me)
