New BLOG XD

Just like I promised, I told you guys that if I started a new blog, I'd let you all know. And so, here's the link: http://hardcorekpopfan.blogspot.com/ If you hate books, don't bother checking this out. If you love them, this might be okay for you. And so, I believe for the last time T-T, I'm signing off my Taiwan Trip blog. Maybe I'll reappear next year, when I take another trip back. If I do, I promise I'll write more, much more! On a side note, if you have any recommendations for blog posts, just let me know (ERomo, that'll be you!) Keep on sparkling!

XD... My Total Absence

I figure no one is following this blog anymore but since there's a select few that still chance upon this, it's been an entire summer since I got back from Taiwan! But I never remembered to attach a final farewell to my various posts. So.... FAREWELL! Well, kinda. I figure I'll start a new blogging topic (if only to remind my friends of "torturous" school life).... but just in case (for all my loyal readers) my trip to Taiwan was officially over like... 3 months ago... I'll let you know more if I start a new one... (prospective names: The Embodiment of the Devil... School?)

2 Days Before Leaving :(

Today is Thursday in Taiwan, two more days to Saturday, when we'll be leaving!!! Not the greatest thing in the world... but I don't mind being back home. However, more on today...

The highlight of today: We visited Maokong, and we went to one of its popular places, the Maokong Gondola! It was a really nice sight, and pics below. The three stops: the Taipei Zoo (which I was too tired to visit), Zhinan Temple, and the last stop, Maokong. Obvious name, no? Going up, we took the regular gondola, but going back down, we took the "Crystal Cabin." Want to guess what that's supposed to mean? Well, nothing crystal about it, but the floor was glass, so it was see-through... pretty cool... pics below:

                                                                   Eeek! Broccoli!
                                                         The floor!!! It's see-through!!!

Seriously, the view was amazing! Unfortunately, the trees reminded me a little too much of a certain vegetable (*ahem... broccoli) and I had quite the "delicious" nightmare as we soared across chunks of the vegetable in question...

However, overall very relaxing and nice view that I would definitely recommend.

And if your not up for heights, there are lots of other places around Maokong (exhibits, sites, etc.) Perhaps the Taipei Zoo would suit you! Until next time! And enjoy summer all my fellow bronies and pegasisters, Season 4 is coming! Fret not, Equestria Girls can't be ALL bad...

Taipei: Day... I Don't Know QQ

I have been absent from my blog for a little while... and since its impossible for me to catch up... I'm starting from today! Just 6 more countdown days till I leave Taiwan... it's really too sad. But yesterday and today:

6/3:

So tired!!! I'm still sore from yesterday. Of course, the normal breakfast but then! We went nature walking(!) in really hot weather. Extremely hot... it was very beautiful... but not comfortable at all... and I got home with sticky, and wet with sweat. The view was excellent though, a picturesque mountainous area. However, the con: the river water wasn't cold at all... *sighs (must-deal-with-stupid-HEAT!)

Today 6/4:

I did nothing and I'm proud of it!!! Actually, I took a fabulous walk in the park... and watched old people sing karaoke, quite interesting. In truth, its a delightful thing to see old people communicating instead of cooped up at home, if not hilarious to watch them belt out tunes :D Because my iPod is currently not with me (under someones pillow actually, and that person in question is sleeping) I can't upload any pics... however, I'll make sure too!

Tainan

Since I’ve traveled down to Tainan for the past few days, I’ve been skipping a few blog posts. So, in an endeavor to catch up, I’ve compressed my entire trip in Tainan into one blog post. A minor attack of the typical lazyitis.
Start from our “road trip” down to Tainan… yes, we drove 4 hours to get from the top of Taiwan (Taipei) down to the bottom. Not the best road trip ever, unless you consider raining cats and dogs a good road trip.

Bleary no? And then, a look inside a Taiwan rest stop, where we had lunch… not the best, but good enough. Meat sauce fries, not bad…
And so, we ended our “road trip” with a well-deserved rest in Tainan. Tomorrow: meeting relatives (?)

Mostly, Tainan was a food festival (lots of food...) So, I'm uploading my pics of the numerous foods I ate! Check out the blog post!

Day 4 and 5

So sorry for the immense delay!!! But since I've been a bit behind, I've decided to incorporate Days 4 and 5 together... since I didn't do anything on Day 5...

Day 4

Such tasty food! But before that, I started the day going shopping, the promised shopping trip that should have taken place on Day 3. Although short, I rather enjoyed it... if not for Taiwan's hot and humid weather, definitely not suitable for those easy of water loss... that is, sweat. The shopping took place at Tamsui, famous for its streets of stocked goods... I have but one recommendation, it is a must-eat... wheel biscuits!!! Somewhat of a direct translation from it's Chinese name... pics below.
Yes... a good piece of thin crisp on the outside, and bursting filling in the middle! Very, very tasty. And if you're wondering what the filling is, that of course, is what Taiwanese people couldn't do without: red bean. There is also the more widely appreciated filling: cream, but authentic Asian snacks call for red bean... and so, even though I ate the cream flavor, red bean was quite nice as well. More pics of Tamsui:
Onward to more food!!! We left Tamsui in search of dinner... well, actually, we already found dinner, or if I must be clear, we ate a restaurant with friends. I don't remember the restaurant name, that's unfortunate (it was good!) but I'm not to blame! Well, maybe, but when everything you read is in Chinese, it's kind of hard to lock in and comprehend. However, very nice food!!!
You might be wondering what that little cup of whatnot is. Well here's a hint: we had to work very hard for our dinner. In truth, the restaurant had quite an interesting way of letting us live the queer dining experience, we had to hand grind our own seasoning! Yes, I worked quite hard using my little grinding thingy-magig, trying to mash the mixture up... turns out there's an easier way than just using sheer force... you're supposed to stir the stick around, use some pressure, and follow the pattern inside the bowl.... QQ *sore arms* But that's just the seasoning... our meal came full out when we got to actually eating. Take a look!

Appetizer, entree, and dessert... nice? Tasty...

Day 5

I did nothing on Day 5... so no pics. :D (very lazy of me)
Also, an extra shout-out to my friends!!! School's off, have a great summer!!! Go NMS!

Day 3 (Part 1)

Omo... Day 3... very legit. However, I'll start from the beginning... after yet another 5-hour sleep (blames it on jet-lag), I woke up fresh and ready at a whopping six in the morning, what fun! Of course, a nice morning in Taiwan isn't complete without a walk in the park, and after a lap around, I was sweaty, tired, and grumpy... not fun, especially at six in the morning. No fancy meal this time, just what the average lazy human being eats, food from none other than Seven-Eleven (7/11)... check out my "healthy" breakfast!

Yes, a "Delicious Sandwich" and a pudding (I must admit, the bread was pretty good). But then, I'm in no position to complain, considering I got up too early for proper breakfast time. Welp, afterwards, I rested for about as much as you can rest with jet-lag, and then, "it's time to meet the relatives!" Yeah, I was so excited. Actually, I was, no lie... but then, I can't really say any different, since the relatives in question are sitting right next to me while I type this. But then, regardless of the relatives, there was a lovely lunch, sponsored by none other than... *drum roll* COSTCO! Yay, I know what you're thinking... horrible frozen sushi and such... no, no, you are sadly (or happily) mistaken, for the Costco chain in Taiwan is about as different to the United States's as Twilight Sparkle is to Fluttershy (minus the pony part). The quality... well, want to see?

Yes, all courtesy of Costco... marvelous, no? I'll refrain from complimenting too much, lest the Costco chain in the U.S. threatens me...

First half of the day, successfully completed?

Second half of the day... I don't know... maybe shopping?
